Arrigo Martelli started playing guitar during childhood. At the age of 10 he was admitted to the Conservatorio di Musica [Academy of Music] in Vicenza, where he continued his studies in guitar. In 2007, Arrigo graduated from the Conservatorio with the highest degree in classical guitar.
He then relocated to London, UK, to further pursue his musical studies, and obtained a Certificate Of Higher Education in “Commercial Music Performance” from the prestigious Tech Music School.
In addition to classical guitar, Arrigo also plays the electric and acoustic guitar. He is a member of a number of musical groups including a chamber music quintet and his 1950’s style quartet, which performs American rockabilly and swing in local venues around the Vicenza area.
Besides being a musician and performer, he provides guitar instruction and works as a music teacher in Vicenza.
Make learning easy, enjoyable and fun! My approach is to begin with very basic information and techniques and then proceed logically, covering all the concepts that are needed to see the complete picture. The study of music is a lifetime pursuit, but it doesn’t have to take a lifetime to learn the basics and start playing.
I structure each class according to the student’s level: the lessons’ material is set up so that there is a gradual development of strength and co-ordination of the hands, as well as a beginning awareness of the workings of the music itself, and a demonstration of how the many concepts covered can be applied in real-world musical situations.
Despite the increasing popularity of online tutorials and virtual guitar classes I firmly believe that a good teacher can help you learn a lot faster and better, by showing you the right way to do things and avoiding bad habits. Also, there is no substitute for having another more experienced player point things out that you may not be aware of.
